Survey Shows 41% Disapproval of Biden’s Handling of Israel-Hamas Situation, Says Pew Poll
According to a new poll released by the Pew Research Center on Friday, more than 4 in 10 Americans disapprove of President Joe Biden’s response to the Israel-Hamas war, including 46% of those under the age of 30.
The survey found that 35% approved of Biden’s response, while 41% disapproved and 24% were undecided. Only 19% of those under 30 approved of Biden’s response.
Across the political spectrum, 51% of Republicans disapproved of Biden’s response, while 33% of Democrats disapproved. However, 44% of Democrats approved compared to 22% who were undecided.
25% of those surveyed believe Biden is striking the right balance between Israel and the Palestinians. 21% think he favors Israel too much, while 16% believe he favors the Palestinians too much.
The survey also found that 65% of Americans think Hamas bears more responsibility for the conflict than Israel. In terms of Israel’s military operation in Gaza, 27% say Israel is going too far, 25% say it’s the right approach, 16% say Israel isn’t going far enough, and 32% are unsure.
The survey was conducted from Nov. 27-Dec. 3 and included 5,203 adults with a margin of error of +/- 1.8 points.
