Texas Governor Abbott Reports Decrease in Migrant Entries Thanks to Razor Wire
The Texas governor, Greg Abbott, stated in an interview with Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” that the razor wire placed at a park on the border with Mexico has led to a “massive reduction” in migrant crossings in the area.
Abbott also mentioned that other governors are supporting Texas in its right to self-defense and the deployment of the razor wire, leading to a significant reduction in migrant inflow.
He highlighted that in the area where the razor wire was installed, there used to be 3,000 or 4,000 people crossing daily, but in the past three days, the average has been just three people. Abbott emphasized the importance of securing the border and called on President Joe Biden to not stop that effort.
Furthermore, Abbott stated that more than half of the governors have joined together in support of the right of self-defense guaranteed by the United States Constitution when states face imminent harm or invasion.
Texas began putting up razor wire along its border with Mexico last year, which led to a standoff with the Biden administration. Despite a Supreme Court ruling allowing border agents to remove the razor wire, the Texas National Guard continues to erect it.
