Texas Governor Abbott tells Newsmax that migrants are allowed to freely travel throughout the country

Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott dismissed the legal action taken against him and his state, stating that the U.S. Constitution provides Texas with the right to defend itself against an open border. He also pointed out that the Biden administration allows migrants to travel freely within the United States.

Abbott responded to the lawsuits filed by the Department of Justice and New York City Mayor Eric Adams, expressing that they should have sought legal counsel before taking legal action.

In an interview on “Eric Bolling The Balance,” Abbott claimed that Adams’ lawsuit for $708 million is baseless and that he lacks understanding of the law. Abbott argued that the Biden administration’s authorization of migrants to be in the United States gives them the constitutional right to travel to New York City, and Adams’ lawsuit is denying them this right.

Abbott also asserted that migrants choosing to travel to cities like New York relieves congestion in small Texas towns caused by the border policies. He emphasized that migrants are moving voluntarily to the location of their choice, and Texas is essentially moving them away from the border to areas with greater resources.

Abbott criticized the Biden administration for focusing on lawsuits against Texas instead of addressing border security issues. He emphasized Texas’ legal right to defend itself from open border policies under the U.S. Constitution.
