Texas State Representative Harrison Tells Newsmax: State Ending Relationship With ‘Marxist’ ALA
The state of Texas is cutting ties with the American Library Association (ALA) due to concerns over taxpayer-funded indoctrination. State Rep. Brian Harrison, a Republican, criticized the ALA for promoting “dangerous Marxism and socialism,” and argued that taxpayer money should not be used to support such ideologies. Public libraries have faced backlash for refusing to remove books deemed inappropriate by some community members and politicians. Montana withdrew its membership from the ALA in July, and Texas has now followed suit. Harrison plans to send a “call to action” to every Republican governor in the U.S. to also cut ties with the ALA.
