The Kremlin States that Trump Case Reveals US Strategy of Eliminating Rivals

The Kremlin stated on Friday that the guilty verdict of former President Donald Trump demonstrates the use of both legal and illegal methods in the United States to eliminate political rivals.

Donald Trump made history on Thursday as the first U.S. president to be convicted of a crime, after a New York jury found him guilty of falsifying documents to conceal a payment to a porn star prior to the 2016 election.

“When we talk about Trump, it is evident that there is a systematic elimination of political rivals using any means, whether legal or illegal,” stated Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov during a news briefing.

Trump, aged 77, is scheduled to be sentenced on July 11.

The campaign of U.S. President Joe Biden remarked that the verdict underscores that “no one is above the law,” although it is not likely to have a significant impact on the dynamics of the Nov. 5 election.
