On Friday, FBI Director Kash Patel praised the agents in Charlotte, North Carolina, for capturing Eleodoro “Leo” Estrada-Hernandez, 37.

His arrest comes shortly after Garner Police reported that three armed suspects entered a family’s home, demanding $1 million.

After the husband declined their request, they bound him and kidnapped his wife along with their 11-month-old daughter.

The mother and child were located unharmed just hours later, and police detained two of the suspects the following day.

  • Paola Duran Duran – 25 years old, charged with two counts of First Degree Kidnapping and one count of Second Degree Kidnapping
  • Miguel Angel Duran Duran – 23 years old, charged with two counts of First Degree Kidnapping and one count of Second Degree Kidnapping

“We’re fortunate here in Wake County to live in a community where random violence like this is extremely rare,” stated District Attorney Lorrin Freeman. “It’ll take the next few weeks and months as this case progresses to determine if there was any specific targeting of these individuals.”

Prosecutors suspect the brother-sister pair are citizens of Mexico and may pose a flight risk. Both have been denied bail and are currently held at the Wake County Detention Center.

Hernandez is the third suspect that authorities have been hunting for. FBI Director Patel indicated that Hernandez is an illegal immigrant who has been deported in the past and now faces several state charges.
