Henyard was appointed as the township Supervisor in 2022, following her election as the Mayor of Dolton, Illinois in 2021.
Residents of Dolton are also seeking to remove Henyard, yet that situation is quite different.
The Thornton Township Democrats implemented a caucus for the first time in three decades to select candidates for the ballot, as Henyard has faced backlash regarding her spending habits and interference with trustees.
Individuals vying for nomination were required to gather a slate of eight candidates, including positions like highway director and four trustees.
Henyard failed to include a certified assessor in her slate, leading to her exclusion from the ballot.
In her place, Illinois State Senator Napolean Harris was chosen for the Democratic nomination.
“I will be suing everyone… this is illegal,” Henyard expressed to WBBM.

Henyard condemned the caucus process, claiming hundreds of her supporters were not allowed entry, many of whom she had arranged transportation for using Thornton Township buses.
Numerous supporters of hers were seen visibly upset as they waited outdoors in the cold, with some even labeling it voter suppression.
If Henyard intends to remain in the race for township supervisor, she now must become a write-in candidate.
