Tony Shaffer tells Newsmax: Biden lacks credibility on a global scale
Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer expressed to Newsmax on Friday that President Joe Biden’s lack of credibility on the global stage is being noticed by adversaries who are taking advantage of the situation.
Shaffer, along with retired Air Force Brig. Gen. Blaine Holt, appeared on “The Chris Salcedo Show” to discuss Russia’s recent movements near the United States.
“We are facing potential challenges and struggling with basic functions. This puts America at significant risk,” Holt told guest host Lidia Curanaj.
Shaffer agreed, stating, “Joe Biden is mentally compromised, which has been reported by The Wall Street Journal; other countries are aware of this. Credibility is essential for deterrence, and if Joe Biden is not credible, our deterrence is weakened.”
Recently, three Russian warships and a nuclear submarine arrived in Cuba for a week of military exercises in the Caribbean.
“Therefore, the Russians are potentially escalating tensions. Moving the fleet to Cuba with nuclear capabilities was a threat, indicating the potential for miscalculation and the start of a real war,” Shaffer explained.
“We need a steady leader who can think through situations carefully. Unfortunately, Joe Biden does not possess these qualities,” he added.
Holt added, “This administration has us on the brink of World War III, a situation they accused former President Trump of, only this time it’s real. We are facing a Cuban missile crisis close to Florida.”
“Why is Congress not addressing this issue?” he questioned.
