Tragic Tour Van Accident Near Yellowstone National Park Claims 7 Lives – One America News Network

Idaho State Police have reported that seven individuals tragically lost their lives in a devastating collision between a tour van and a pickup truck near Yellowstone National Park.

Though most of Yellowstone National Park is situated in Wyoming, a small area extends into Idaho’s western boundary, as well as into Montana to the north.
The authorities stated that the investigation into the fiery crash is ongoing. The incident occurred at around 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, approximately 16 miles from the renowned park.
“At around 7:15 p.m., ISP officers responded to the accident at milepost 399. The collision involved a Dodge Ram pickup truck and a Mercedes passenger van. The van had 14 occupants, while the pickup had one occupant, the driver. Sadly, six individuals in the van and the driver of the pickup truck lost their lives as a result of this incident,” stated Idaho State Police.
“The van was operating as a tour vehicle. Given the severity of the situation and the ongoing process of notifying next of kin, no names, ages, hometowns, or nationalities have been disclosed. Information will be provided by the Fremont County Coroner’s Office once available,” it added.
Multiple reports confirm that six of the 14 tourists in the van, along with the driver of the Dodge Ram, perished in the crash, totaling seven fatalities.
Additionally, eight other individuals involved in the incident suffered injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
“It is an extremely perilous highway,” remarked Roger Merrill, who witnessed the vehicles ablaze after the catastrophic crash. “It’s very busy.”
Merrill noted the anxiety of waiting for first responders due to the crash’s location.
“Help took an unnervingly long time to arrive due to the site’s location,” he stated.
A video captured by Merrill at the scene showed a severely damaged red pickup truck alongside a passenger van fully engulfed in flames as emergency responders arrived.
