Trump Accuses Comey of Spreading Lies to Help Democrats’ Efforts to Remove Him

Fired FBI Director James Comey, who was hired by Obama, is in the news advocating for the imprisonment of the president who fired him. Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, is pushing back, labeling it a “scam.”

Trump wrote on Truth Social on Friday, “The worst FBI director in history, who I inherited from the Obama administration, but fired almost immediately into ours, along with many other corrupt actors in the DOJ and FBI (The start of DRAIN THE SWAMP!), is going around LYING about the SCAM brought by Soros backed D.A. Alvin Bragg, and perpetuated by the highly conflicted, Democrat appointed Judge Juan Merchan.”

“If Comey had any respect for our system of justice, which is being DESTROYED before our eyes, he would be fighting against the Crooked Joe Biden inspired witch hunts, instead of spreading LIES!”

Comey was appointed as FBI director by Obama despite claiming to be a registered Republican. He was involved in meetings with Obama and Biden during the 2016 election when allegations of Russian interference were used against the Trump campaign.

After being fired by Trump, Comey used media and his book to criticize the president and called for Republicans to vote for Biden in 2020. Now, with ongoing efforts by Democrats to investigate and indict Trump, Comey is once again using his political influence against Trump.

Comey told “NewsNation,” “I wasn’t sure that I would have [brought the case] when I read the indictment, but now having seen the case, I’m not sure — after investigating it — how they wouldn’t bring it.”

Despite differing legal opinions, Comey suggested that a conviction of Trump was likely by the Manhattan jury this week.
