Trump Accuses Jan. 6 Committee of Committing a ‘Criminal Act’ by Deleting Evidence
Former President Donald Trump has accused the House Jan. 6 select committee of deleting documents and evidence from their work last year, calling it a “criminal act.” Trump claims that his newly acquired “subpoena power” has revealed the destruction of congressional documents and evidence. He described the congressional hearings as a “dog and pony show” and argued that the committee’s focus on blaming him for the Capitol protest revealed no actual crimes. According to Trump, the only criminal act involved was the obstruction and destruction of evidence and documents by the committee. He criticized the two Republican members of the committee, Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney, and stated that the real answers to what happened on January 6th have been deleted and hidden by the committee. Trump believes that the committee did not want to report the truth and deliberately got rid of the evidence. He concluded that the “real answers” have been obscured by anti-Trump individuals.
