Trump accuses judge of sensationalizing case as much as possible

Former President Donald Trump, in a statement made to reporters on Friday before his ongoing criminal trial in Manhattan, accused Judge Juan Merchan of sensationalizing the case against him by allowing irrelevant testimony.

Trump stated, “He wants to make it a salacious case, to try and hurt Trump, but it’s having the opposite effect. He’s allowing things in, but nothing for us. He gives everything to the corrupt DA Alvin Bragg. You have a corrupt DA that’s not doing his job.”

Trump also criticized Merchan’s gag order, which has been a point of contention in the trial.

Merchan recently hinted at the possibility of imposing more fines on Trump for violating the gag order, which prohibits him from discussing the case’s witnesses and jury.

Earlier in the week, Trump was fined $9,000 for breaching the order on multiple occasions.

Trump expressed frustration with his inability to defend himself against accusations due to the gag order. He mentioned that his legal team is planning to challenge the order on constitutional grounds through a lawsuit.

The charges against Trump involve alleged falsification of business records to conceal a payment to Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election. Trump denies the allegations and has pleaded not guilty.

Trump also lamented not being able to campaign and fight for the presidency instead of being in court. He questioned the necessity of the trial and criticized the judge, prosecutors, and court system.

He also voiced his concerns about the alleged political motivations behind the trial, accusing them of trying to aid President Joe Biden’s re-election.

Trump concluded by emphasizing his campaign platform, focusing on job creation and immigration control.
