Trump Aims to Promote Bitcoin as a Product of American Manufacture
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump announced his desire for all remaining Bitcoin production to be based in the United States during a statement on Tuesday.
The cryptocurrency industry has been actively engaging with U.S. lawmakers as it experiences increased scrutiny from regulators. This comes after high-profile bankruptcies at major crypto companies in 2022 raised concerns, revealed instances of fraud and misconduct, and left many investors at a loss.
“VOTE FOR TRUMP! Bitcoin mining could serve as a crucial defense against a Central Bank Digital Currency,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
“Biden’s opposition to Bitcoin only benefits China, Russia, and the Radical Communist Left. We aim to ensure that all remaining Bitcoin is PRODUCED IN THE USA!!! This will contribute to our energy independence!!!”
