Trump and the RNC Bring in $65.6 Million in March, According to Report.

According to Politico, Donald Trump and the Republican National Committee raised $65.6 million in March. This fundraising figure is aimed at alleviating concerns about Trump’s depleted accounts due to mounting legal fees.

Trump has spent over $100 million on legal expenses related to various indictments, investigations, and trials. He is also facing a financial shortfall against President Joe Biden, with Biden’s campaign committee outpacing Trump in fundraising from both large contributions and small donations under $200.

RNC Chairman Michael Whatley stated, “President Donald J. Trump has once again built a strong fundraising operation among Republicans. Despite being the presumptive Republican nominee for a short time, the RNC and Trump campaign are united in their focus on securing victory.”

“We are raising funds and strategically investing to mobilize voters and safeguard the integrity of the election process. We are confident of a significant victory in just 31 weeks.”

Joe Biden’s campaign has raised $188.8 million from both his campaign committee and external groups, surpassing Trump’s $179.2 million fundraising total.

While money is important, it does not always guarantee success. In 2016, Trump defeated Hillary Clinton despite her raising more funds ($769.9 million) compared to Trump’s total of $433.4 million.

In response to the fundraising news, a spokesperson for the Biden campaign told the Washington Examiner, “Donald Trump is focusing on wealthy special interests, neglecting grassroots donors who support our campaign. Without the infrastructure, broad appeal, or donor base to win, Trump’s spending priorities and outreach efforts are lacking.”
