Former President Donald Trump announced on his social media platform, Truth Social, that his interview with Tucker Carlson will be aired at the same time as the first Republican primary debate. Trump chose not to participate in the debate, citing his lead in the polls. The interview will be broadcast on X, formerly known as Twitter. Trump has been in a feud with Fox News, and Carlson was ousted from the network earlier this year. As a result of Trump’s decision, Fox News has denied credentials to some of his surrogates for the debate’s spin room. However, the Republican National Committee will still honor tickets for the actual debate.
