Trump Campaign Brings in $141 Million in May
According to an announcement made by the Trump campaign jointly with the Republican National Committee on Monday, Donald Trump’s presidential campaign raised $141 million in May from over 2 million donations.
In addition, other organizations supporting Trump raised an additional $150 million, bringing the total fundraising for May to nearly $300 million.
The surge in donations was particularly notable after Trump was found guilty in New York in his business records trial, raising $53 million in a 24-hour period. This amount accounted for over a third of the total funds raised for the month and temporarily crashed Trump’s donation platform. Campaign senior advisers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles stated, “We are moved by the outpouring of support for President Donald J. Trump. The American people saw right through Crooked Joe Biden’s rigged trial, and sent Biden and Democrats a powerful message – the REAL verdict will come on November 5th.”
25% of the 2 million donors were new to the campaign, with an average donation of $70.27.
RNC Chairman Michael Whatley and Co-Chairman Lara Trump remarked on the fundraising success, stating, “The American people saw the Biden Trials for what they are — a sham attempt to keep President Trump away from voters and confined in a courtroom. It didn’t work because voters understand the clear contrast between President Trump’s record of success and Joe Biden’s failures.”
As for the Biden campaign, they have not yet announced their May fundraising total after raising $51 million in April.
