Trump Campaign: Easter Is Not a Time for Celebrating ‘Transgender Day’

The White House openly proclaiming Easter Sunday, the culmination of Holy Week, as the “Transgender Day of Visibility” is considered blasphemous by the Trump campaign, who demand an apology to those who observe the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

“It is appalling and insulting that Joe Biden’s White House prohibited children from submitting religious egg designs for their Easter Art Event, and officially declared Easter Sunday as ‘Trans Day of Visibility,'” stated Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt.

She described it as an open attack on Christians and criticized the Biden administration’s behavior towards the Christian faith, demanding an apology.

The White House’s decision to highlight March 31 as Transgender Day of Visibility, a day chosen in 2009 under former President Barack Obama, raised concerns as it coincided with Easter Sunday during the 2024 presidential election.

The move sparked outrage across social media platforms, with many pointing out the disparity in attention given to a small population compared to the large Christian majority in the U.S.

Even transgender Olympic champion Caitlyn Jenner voiced disapproval of the selection of Trans Day on Easter Sunday, expressing her disgust on social media.

Despite calls for an apology, Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s office defended the decision to honor Transgender Day of Visibility, emphasizing the need to support the equality and rights of transgender individuals worldwide.

On the contrary, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene criticized President Biden and the Democrats for choosing to celebrate Transgender Day on Easter Sunday, calling it a mockery of faith and a rejection of God.

Overall, the White House’s attempts to acknowledge the transgender community have faced criticism from the American Christian majority, highlighting a contentious relationship between the two groups.
