Trump Cautioned About the Dangers of Attempting to Influence Witnesses
Former President Donald Trump was warned by U.S. Magistrate Judge Moxila Upadhyaya during his arraignment on Thursday to refrain from attempting to influence witnesses through means such as bribery. The warning comes after allegations were made by the House committee investigating the January 6th uprising on Capitol Hill, claiming that Trump and his allies had attempted to contact an unnamed witness in that investigation. Trump pleaded not guilty to three charges of conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election and one charge of obstruction of an official proceeding. The arraignment lasted for 27 minutes. The next hearing is scheduled for August 28th and Trump’s appearance has been waived for that hearing, which will be held before U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan.
