Trump Charges Should Be Dropped and Georgia DA Should Be Disbarred, According to Huckabee on Newsmax
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis “should be disbarred and all the charges dropped” in former President Donald Trump’s election interference case, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee told Newsmax Tuesday.
He made this statement following a co-defendant’s claim that Willis should be disqualified from the case and the charges dropped because of her alleged “improper” and “clandestine” relationship with the married special prosecutor who assisted in securing the Georgia grand jury indictment against Trump.
Additionally, the motion argues that Willis’ failure to disclose her alleged relationship with the special prosecutor while paying him for his work on the Trump case with funds he allegedly used to go on extravagant vacations with the DA could amount to honest services fraud and “a predicate act which could result in a RICO charge against both the district attorney and the special prosecutor.”
Huckabee told Newsmax’s “Wake Up America,” that any fair-minded judge would not view this case as “all on the up and up.” He criticized the biased targeting of Trump and the misuse of taxpayer funds to support a prosecutor with a personal agenda.
He sarcastically added, “given how ridiculous this whole case has gone, I doubt that [this scandal] will affect it at all.”
Huckabee also emphasized the scandalous nature of this case being covered by taxpayers’ money. Instead of an objective pursuit of justice, Huckabee claimed that the prosecutor targeted Trump due to personal animosity and simultaneously exploited her position to hire her boyfriend and go on luxurious vacations.
Huckabee also discussed the Iowa caucuses and the unfavorable weather forecast that will require enthusiastic voter participation. He stressed that the caucuses will be a testament to the level of commitment and enthusiasm of each candidate’s supporters.
