Trump claims Biden is receiving a “free pass” on classified documents

Former President Donald Trump criticized the handling of classified documents cases against him and President Joe Biden, claiming Biden received favorable treatment from the Department of Justice while he continues to face legal challenges.

Trump expressed his concerns in a post on Truth Social, ahead of a congressional hearing involving former special counsel Robert Hur’s decision not to bring charges against Biden for mishandling classified docs, while Trump himself is dealing with a federal trial in Florida related to classified documents.

Trump accused Biden of having numerous classified documents without proper supervision or security measures, while highlighting the difference in how they are treated under the Presidential Records Act. Trump emphasized that Biden and other individuals have received a “free pass” from the DOJ, while he is still fighting legal battles.

During the upcoming hearing, Hur is expected to answer questions regarding his report and interviews with Biden, where he concluded that there was not enough evidence to charge Biden beyond a reasonable doubt. Biden reportedly used phrases like “I don’t know” or “I don’t recall” more than 100 times during his deposition with Hur.

Despite Hur leaving the Justice Department, he prepared for the congressional hearing with assistance from the Office of Legislative Affairs at the DOJ, as reported by CNN.
