Trump claims Biden is the worst president for black people
Speaking at an African American church in Detroit, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump criticized President Joe Biden, appealing to Black voters and churchgoers in the key battleground state of Michigan.
“He’s been the worst president for Black people,” Trump said Saturday afternoon at the 1800 Church, a modest brick building outside the city’s downtown core, where “Black Americans for Trump” signs were displayed.
“They’re taking your jobs” and “they’re invading your jobs,” Trump added in the roundtable discussion that was live on Newsmax and the free Newsmax2 streaming platform, criticizing open border policies that he believes have harmed hardworking urban communities.
Trump was making consecutive stops to engage Black and young voters, including at Turning Point Action’s The People’s Convention.
“It’s a very important area for us,” Trump expressed to the crowd in Detroit, promising to return “some Sunday” and attend a sermon.
“We have done more for the Black population than any president since Abraham Lincoln.”
Rep. Byron Donalds introduced Trump at the Detroit church, and Trump mentioned Donalds as a potential vice presidential running mate.

Turning Point’s growing influence in mainstream Republican politics was evident at the event, with prominent Republican figures like Sen. Rick Scott and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene participating.
