Trump Claims he Could Have Stopped the Israel-Hamas Conflict
Former President Donald Trump stated that the Hamas terror attacks on Israel, along with the ensuing war, would not have occurred if he were still in office and attributed them to the terror group’s lack of respect for President Joe Biden.
In an interview with The Times of Israel, Trump claimed, “Iran was broke. They didn’t have the resources to support Hamas or Hezbollah. They wouldn’t have acted this way if I were president.”
He also expressed his belief that Biden is abandoning Israel and suggested that if he were in charge, Russia would not have attacked Ukraine.
Trump did not directly address Vice President Kamala Harris’ call for a temporary cease-fire but emphasized that the recent attacks and subsequent destruction would not have occurred under his leadership.
Despite his criticism of the Israeli government’s response to the attacks, Trump has a history of supporting Israel, including recognizing Jerusalem as the capital and brokering the Abraham Accords.
His administration was working towards normalizing relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel before the recent events, and the current administration is still pursuing this goal as part of broader efforts to end the conflict with Hamas and advance regional integration.
