Trump Considering a Comprehensive Immigration Plan
Former President Donald Trump plans to implement a comprehensive approach to securing the southern border and addressing the migrant crisis if he returns to the White House. This includes completing construction of the border wall, reinstating the “Remain in Mexico” policy for asylum seekers, and trying to reimpose Title 42 to combat child trafficking. Trump also intends to designate drug cartels as “unlawful enemy combatants” and involve the military in targeting them in Mexico. Additionally, his plan includes using the Navy and Coast Guard to stop drug smuggling, deporting migrant gang members and criminals, implementing stricter immigration screening measures, and ending birthright citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants. Trump and his team are referring to specific sections of U.S. law to justify these plans.
