On Wednesday, President Donald Trump threatened legal action against writers producing “defamatory fiction” regarding him and his administration, particularly those referencing dubious “anonymous” sources to support their assertions.

“As a President who enjoys recognition for having the Best Opening Month of any President in history, naturally, here come the Fake books and stories featuring so-called ‘anonymous,’ or ‘off the record,’ quotes. At some stage, I intend to sue some of these dishonest writers and publishers, or even media outlets in general, to ascertain whether these ‘anonymous sources’ truly exist, which, for the most part, they do not,” Trump asserted.

“They are fabricated, defamatory fiction, and a significant price should be exacted for this blatant dishonesty. I’ll do it as a service to our country. Who knows, we might even establish a NICE NEW LAW!!!” Trump added.

President Trump’s legal threat appears to target author Michael Wolff, following Trump labeling Wolff’s recent book a “total FAKE JOB” in a post on Truth Social — with White House Communications Director Steven Cheung also sharing his views on the issue.

“Michael Wolff is a lying sack of s**t and has been proven to be a fraud,” White House Communications Director Steven Cheung remarked. “He consistently fabricates narratives from his twisted imagination, only achievable due to his severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has corroded his already limited intellect.”

In the meantime, Trump mentioned that he had already declined multiple interview requests from Wolff, emphasizing the author’s history of incorporating blatant falsehoods about him in earlier publications.

“His prior works about me have been discredited, and this one will be as well. I believe in addressing FAKE NEWS, or fabricated stories, even if it requires a low blow, and it shouldn’t necessitate the time spent doing so.”

“We have just experienced one of the Greatest Elections in History, and perhaps the Greatest First Month EVER, according to almost everyone, yet Wolff is unwilling to discuss that,” Trump continued.

Trump asserted that Wolff is misrepresenting his “anonymous” sources in this latest book, advising that “no one should squander their time or money purchasing this dull and obviously fabricated book.”

Wolff’s latest release is titled “All or Nothing: How Trump Recaptured America.” It was launched on Tuesday and reportedly contains insights on Trump’s supporters — including Elon Musk, per the New York Times.

Back in November, officials from Trump’s campaign responded to interview requests from Wolff, stating: “Several of us have received inquiries from the disgraced author Michael Wolff, whose previous works can only be categorized as fiction.”

“He is a known disseminator of fake news who routinely fabricates situations, dialogues, and conclusions that never occurred,” the campaign staff added. “Collectively, we have opted not to engage with his bad faith inquiries and encourage others to completely discount whatever absurdities he ultimately publishes. Consider this our general response to anything he writes.”
