Trump defeats Haley in Super Tuesday primary election

Former President Donald Trump solidified his lead in the Republican presidential race on Super Tuesday, distancing himself from Nikki Haley with a commanding performance.

Decision Desk HQ declared Trump victorious in 13 out of the 15 states, including California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Texas, and Virginia.

Speaking at a celebratory event at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, Trump remarked, “They call it Super Tuesday for a reason. This has been an incredible time in our country’s history.”

Haley’s win in Vermont, where an open primary allowed Democrats and independents to participate, was the only setback for Trump. Despite this, Trump secured major wins in California, with 169 delegates at stake, and Texas, with 150 delegates up for grabs.

Trump’s strong stance on the southern border crisis resonated with Texans, giving him a significant lead over Haley in the polls. With 35% of the Republican delegates on the line, Trump’s dominant performance on Super Tuesday put pressure on Haley to consider suspending her campaign.

Although Haley had recently won the District of Columbia primary, she struggled to compete with Trump in other states. Despite calls to end her campaign, Haley continued to push forward, even after losing her home state’s primary to Trump.
