Trump: ‘Even Mother Teresa Couldn’t Overcome These Charges’

Former President Donald Trump has strongly criticized the “rigged” trial and the “conflicted” Judge Juan Merchan who gave instructions to the jury, as they began deliberations.

Trump, addressing reporters after leaving the courtroom, stated that “Mother Teresa could not beat these charges,” as he awaits the jury’s decision on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records, which could result in up to four years in prison. Despite denying any wrongdoing and pleading not guilty, Trump labeled the charges as rigged and criticized the trial process.

Judge Juan Merchan ordered Trump to remain present at the courthouse during deliberations, prompting Trump to express frustration at the situation. He accused the legal system of being biased against him and criticized the Biden administration for weaponizing the legal system against political opponents.

Trump also commented on the southern border policies and criticized actor Robert De Niro for his anti-Trump statements.

Jury deliberations are carried out in secrecy, with jurors allowed to communicate with the court through notes for legal guidance or clarification on testimony.
