Trump: Haley’s Remaining in the Race Doesn’t Matter
Former President Donald Trump expressed his indifference towards former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley continuing her bid for the Republican presidential nomination after the New Hampshire primary.
“No, I don’t care if she stays in,” Trump stated while campaigning in the Granite State on the day of the primary. “Let her do whatever she wants. It doesn’t matter.”
Trump is widely expected to win the New Hampshire GOP presidential primary, which comes just a week after he won a majority in the Iowa GOP caucus.
A memo from Haley’s campaign manager indicated that the former U.N. ambassador plans to continue her bid for the nomination even after most of the other contenders, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, have exited the race.
“The political class and the media want to give Donald Trump a coronation. They say the race is over,” wrote Haley’s campaign manager, Betsy Ankney.
“That isn’t how this works,” Ankney continued. “And while members of Congress, the press, and many of the weak-kneed fellas who ran for president are giving up and giving in — we aren’t going anywhere.”
