Trump Holds 5-Point Lead Over Biden in Rasmussen Poll
The latest Rasmussen Reports survey shows that in a hypothetical two-way contest between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, 48% of likely U.S. voters would choose Trump and 43% would vote for Biden.
Trump had an 8-point lead in April’s two-way matchup, with 49% to 41% in his favor.
After Trump’s trial in New York City, where he was convicted on 34 felony counts, he saw a 3-point drop in support over the month.
A recent Morning Consult poll indicated that 49% of independents and 15% of Republicans believe Trump should end his campaign due to the conviction.
In a three-way matchup with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., 45% would vote for Trump, 40% for Biden, and 8% for Kennedy. In a five-way match-up with Green Party candidate Jill Stein and former Harvard Professor Cornell West, 44% would vote for Trump, 39% for Biden, 8% for Kennedy, and 1% each for West and Stein.
Trump maintains a lead among unaffiliated voters and has a strong showing among Hispanic voters in two-way contests.
According to Rasmussen, more men than women voters prefer Trump in the two-way matchup, with women voters being more undecided. The issue of abortion rights is a significant factor for some women and independent voters.
Older voters prefer Trump by double-digit margins, while voters under 40 are more likely to choose Kennedy.
The survey conducted by Rasmussen Reports with 1,080 likely voters on May 28-30 revealed various demographic preferences among the voters, with different income levels and political affiliations showing varying support for Biden and Trump.
