Trump Holds Slight Lead Over Biden in 3 Crucial States, FAU Poll Shows

A recent FAU PolCom Lab/Mainstreet Research poll released on Tuesday shows Republican presumptive nominee Donald Trump leading President Joe Biden by 1 point in head-to-head matchups among voters in three battleground states.

However, with the addition of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to the mix, Biden gains the lead in the overall aggregate, as per the survey.

Trump currently leads Biden 44% to 43% among all voters and likely voters in the three states. In a state breakdown, Trump outright wins one state, while they share the lead in the other two:

• Pennsylvania: Trump leads Biden by 2 points among all voters and likely voters;
• Wisconsin: Biden leads among all voters, but Trump leads among likely voters;
• Michigan: The candidates are tied among all voters, but Biden leads among likely voters.

Biden narrowly won all three states in 2020.

Dukhong Kim, associate professor of political science at FAU, stated that “Neither side has a meaningful advantage in any of the three states at this time.”

However, when Kennedy is added to the hypothetical poll, the results shift in Biden’s favor, especially in Wisconsin where he holds a significant lead.

Across all three states with Kennedy included, Biden leads Trump both among all voters and likely voters.

Despite this, Kennedy is only confirmed qualified for one of the states surveyed — Michigan, at this time.

The survey conducted by FAU PolCom Lab/Mainstreet Research included 2,068 adults in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, with a margin of error of +/- 2.2 points.
