Trump Labels Assailants as ‘Savage Animals’ Responding to Assassination Threat
Former President Donald Trump spoke in an interview with Tucker Carlson where he referred to his enemies as “savage animals” and expressed concerns about being an assassination target. He also stated his belief that his adversaries stole the 2020 election from him and may try to do so again in 2024. Trump accused Republican Senator Mitch McConnell of trying to gather enough support to impeach him. Trump currently leads the GOP field of 2024 presidential candidates by over 30 percentage points. He suggested that he would likely get better ratings and exposure through an independent interview rather than attending a Republican National Committee primary debate in Milwaukee. Eight Republicans met the RNC debate stage qualifications, with Trump leading at 52.1% in polls, followed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis at 15.2%. Trump criticized President Joe Biden as the worst president in U.S. history. He also expressed concern about the level of political divide and hatred in the country.
