Trump labels both Biden and RFK Jr. as ‘far left’
Former President Donald Trump claimed that President Joe Biden does not want independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to participate in debates because they both hold far left views and would be debating on similar topics.
Trump and Biden have agreed to have two campaign debates, with the first one scheduled for June 27 on CNN.
Biden’s campaign suggested excluding third-party candidates like Kennedy from the debates.
Trump expressed his thoughts on the matter through a post on Truth Social, stating that Biden is avoiding having RFK Jr. in the debates because of their similar positions on issues like Open Borders and the Green New Deal. He also mentioned that Kennedy is more intelligent and sharper than Biden.
Despite Trump’s comments, Kennedy’s polling numbers are low and he lacks proper qualifications in the States, according to the former President.
Biden has announced that he will not participate in fall presidential debates organized by the nonpartisan commission that typically hosts these events.
Under the rules of the Commission on Presidential Debates, third-party candidates like Kennedy could qualify if they meet certain requirements such as securing ballot access and polling at a minimum of 15% in national polls.
Kennedy criticized Biden and Trump for excluding him from the debates, claiming that the American people do not want a head-to-head matchup between the two major party candidates only.
