Trump Organization Responds to Investigation of New Jersey Liquor License
The Trump Organization confirms that former President Donald Trump does not hold any New Jersey liquor license, so there are no issues to address at his three golf clubs in the state.
Following an inquiry from the New Jersey attorney general’s office regarding the impact of his convictions in a New York case on these permits, the organization stated that there is no cause for review.
“President Trump does not possess a liquor license in New Jersey, nor is he associated with any entity that holds such a license in the state or anywhere else in the United States,” a spokesperson for the Trump Organization said in a statement to The Hill. “These properties are among the most renowned in the world, and reports like this only serve to harm the numerous hard-working individuals who rely on them for their livelihood.”
Under New Jersey law, liquor licenses cannot be issued to individuals under 18 years old or those convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude.
Last month, Trump was convicted on 34 counts in a trial related to payments made to an adult film star and falsification of business records.
The New Jersey attorney general’s office disclosed that there are three active licenses linked to three properties, and further assessment of the situation is in progress.
“The New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control is examining the implications of President Trump’s conviction on the mentioned licenses and has no additional comments at this time,” a spokesperson for the office stated.
