Trump Reveals He Sent Letter to Iran in Effort to Reach Nuclear Agreement – One America News Network

Recently, President Donald Trump communicated with Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei about a nuclear agreement, warning of military action if a resolution isn’t reached.

“Iran can be dealt with in two ways: militarily or through negotiation. I prefer negotiation,” Trump stated in an interview with Fox News.
“While I’d rather negotiate, opinions may differ, but we can strike a deal that could be as beneficial as a military victory,” Trump added.
“The moment of decision is approaching. I’ve sent a letter expressing my hope for negotiations because if military action becomes necessary, it will have dire consequences for Iran.”
The letter was reportedly dispatched to the Islamic Republic on Wednesday, though the Permanent Mission of Iran to the United Nations stated they have yet to receive it.
Previously, President Trump enacted a memorandum aimed at reinstating “maximum pressure on the Islamic Republic of Iran” using economic sanctions to impede their nuclear weapons development capabilities.
“I intend to sign it; however, I hope it won’t need to be utilized extensively. We’ll see if we can broker a deal with Iran. They must not be allowed to possess a nuclear weapon. For me, it’s very straightforward: Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.”
Trump had previously withdrawn from an agreement made during the Obama era that permitted Iran to enrich uranium to a maximum purity of 3.67% while holding up to 300 kilograms of uranium.
Additionally, Russia has offered to facilitate negotiations between the United States and Iran about a potential nuclear deal, especially since President Trump has taken a significantly less confrontational stance towards Moscow compared to former President Joe Biden.
Nonetheless, Russia is viewed as a lesser economic threat to the U.S. compared to China.
It remains unclear how President Trump’s strategy towards Iran will be received by Israel, which firmly opposes Iran and is a nearby ally.
