Trump Secures Victories in Alaska and Utah, Expands Lead in Near Super Tuesday Sweep

Former President Donald Trump emerged victorious in statewide nominating contests nationwide on Tuesday, paving the way for a significant rematch with President Joe Biden in the upcoming general election in November.

Trump secured the Republican votes in 14 out of 15 states, including important states like California and Texas, defeating his final rival, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.

Additionally, Trump achieved wins in Alaska and Utah overnight.

Haley managed to secure a victory in Vermont, while announcing her intention to address her campaign’s conclusion in Charleston, South Carolina.

Despite facing numerous criminal charges, Trump’s dominant performance on Super Tuesday, with over a third of Republican delegates at stake, virtually ensures his third consecutive presidential nomination.

Following the results, both Trump and Biden directed their attention towards each other. Trump criticized Biden’s immigration policies and labeled him as the “worst president” in history during a victory speech at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

Biden, on the other hand, portrayed Trump as a threat to American democracy, emphasizing the choice between moving forward or regressing into chaos and division under Trump’s leadership.

Biden did face a setback in American Samoa, as entrepreneur Jason Palmer received 51 votes compared to Biden’s 40, according to the American Samoa Democratic Party.

Exit polls revealed that immigration and the economy were top concerns for Republican voters, with a majority supporting the deportation of illegal immigrants.
