President Donald Trump has issued a statement urging Americans to remain patient as he implements tariffs which he claims are essential for restoring equity in international trade.

In a post on Truth Social on Saturday, Trump declared that his economic strategy is already yielding results, with trillions of dollars being infused into the U.S. economy, and encouraged Americans to “hang tough.”

“We are reviving jobs and businesses like never before. Over FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS OF INVESTMENT has already been committed, and it’s increasing quickly! THIS IS AN ECONOMIC REVOLUTION, AND WE WILL EMERGE VICTORIOUS,” Trump stated.

He has recently enacted a 10% tariff on all goods imported into the United States, with some nations subject to even higher rates.

Trump remains confident that this new economic approach will benefit the country in the long run, asserting that it will reduce America’s trade deficit, protect domestic industries, and generate jobs by incentivizing companies to move manufacturing back to the U.S.

“HANG TOUGH, it won’t be simple, but the ultimate outcome will be remarkable,” Trump affirmed. “We will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”

The president also criticized China in light of the country’s retaliatory 34% tariff on U.S. imports following his recent tariff announcement.

“China has suffered far more than the USA, not even close,” Trump remarked. “They, along with several other nations, have treated us terribly for too long. We have been the naive ‘whipping post,’ but that era is over.”

Trump’s recently announced 34% tariff on China adds to the 20% tariffs that were previously placed on the country.

“China miscalculated, they panicked — the one response they could not afford,” Trump mentioned on Truth Social.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the new Chinese tariffs against U.S. goods will take effect on April 10th.
