President-elect Donald Trump has recently vowed to unveil information that the Biden administration has been withholding regarding drone sightings across the East Coast, promising to do so “about one day into the administration.”

“I will provide a report on drones within a day of taking office, because it’s absurd that they aren’t communicating about what is occurring with the drones,” Trump mentioned at his Mar-a-Lago estate on Thursday evening.

“They refuse to discuss it, and it’s unclear why that’s the case. It’s possible those could be our own drones—I would hope that’s the case. Research being conducted by us. Perhaps they don’t want to address it from that perspective,” he went on to say, noting that there have been multiple drone sightings over his golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey.

The Biden administration has faced backlash for not being transparent about numerous drone sightings reported in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut near the end of 2024.

Over social media, users have shared videos of these unidentified drones and speculated about their sources, raising national security concerns over the government’s lack of communication.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the Department of Defense (DOD) previously sought to downplay the sightings, which only served to amplify online conspiracy theories.

“We have thoroughly analyzed the technical data and reports from concerned citizens, and we have determined that the sightings so far are a mix of lawful commercial drones, hobbyist drones, law enforcement drones, manned aircraft, helicopters, and even stars misidentified as drones,” stated the government agencies in a joint announcement.

Reports have indicated that drones were seen flying over restricted airspace, including military installations, nuclear power plants, and airports.

Trump’s remarks were made during a discussion with Republican Governors Glenn Youngkin of Virginia and Ron DeSantis of Florida.

“We host the largest naval base globally in Quantico,” said Youngkin. “Additionally, we are home to several [Navy SEAL] teams and a vast national security framework. Now, after two consecutive years, we have experienced drone incursions into secure airspace.”

“Yet, we still lack answers. I find that completely unacceptable,” Youngkin added.

Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry (R-La.) also participated in Trump’s meeting, recalling instances of drones reportedly flying over Louisiana nuclear reactors during the New Orleans terror attacks on New Year’s Day.

“While we dealt with a terrorist attack in New Orleans, drones were seen over our nuclear reactors in Louisiana, and we alerted the [Federal Aviation Administration],” Landry recounted.

“We have been requesting the FAA to empower states to manage these drones. Yet, it is stalled on a bureaucrat’s desk, which is concerning,” he further stated.

“I hope these aren’t hostile entities, but we will have clarity after the 21st [of January]. Just give me some time following the inauguration, and shortly thereafter, we will provide a complete overview. They are aware, and it’s quite perplexing why they aren’t disclosing this information,” Trump remarked.
