The federal agency confirmed on Monday that Mayorkas no longer has Secret Service protection.
Mayorkas, who is accused of having denied Trump enhanced Secret Service protection following several assassination attempts, had his taxpayer-funded security detail extended for an additional six months by former President Joe Biden.
If it weren’t for Trump’s order, the former Homeland Security Secretary’s protection would have lasted until mid-July.
“As per the President’s executive memorandum, the protective detail for former Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has been terminated,” a spokesperson from the Secret Service informed The New York Post.
“To maintain the integrity of our operations, we are unable to disclose specifics regarding our protective methods and resources.”
As reported by the Washington Post, the Secret Service was alerted on Friday about the revocation of Mayorkas’ protection.
