Trump’s Fundraising Event Anticipated to Raise $43 Million
Republican presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump is now expecting to raise at least $43 million at his fundraiser this weekend at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, as reported by Axios here.
This amount would exceed President Joe Biden’s previous record of $26 million in New York City last week and surpass the initial expectations of $33 million set by Trump’s campaign, according to the original projections.
The fundraiser on Saturday, organized by hedge-fund billionaire John Paulson, is named Trump’s “Inaugural Leadership Dinner,” with a “Chairman Level” donation of $824,600 granting donors “dinner seating at President Trump’s table,” as per Axios.
“This event is exceeding expectations and demonstrates that the Republican Party is united behind President Trump,” a source told Axios.
ABC News reportedly stated that event co-chairs include former ambassadors and Trump administration officials like Linda McMahon, Wilbur Ross, Woody Johnson, Todd Ricketts, Harold Hamm, Robert Bigelow, Robert Mercer, and Phil Ruffin.
The fundraiser marks Trump’s official general election kickoff and will have his former primary opponents, Sen. Tim Scott, Vivek Ramaswamy, and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum in attendance, along with Melania Trump according to the report.
The event, a joint fundraiser between Trump’s Save America PAC and the Republican National Committee, will have contributions of up to $5,000 per donor allocated towards Trump’s legal expenses through his PAC, reported by Axios and ABC News.
