Trump’s Lawyer Tells Newsmax Audience: Closing Arguments are a Positive Note
According to attorney Will Scharf, Donald Trump had a successful day during the closing arguments of his criminal trial in New York, as reported by Newsmax.
Scharf, along with Trump and his legal team, was present in the Manhattan courtroom on Tuesday where lead attorney Todd Blanche skillfully dismantled the prosecution’s case in front of the jury after an eight-day break.
Trump faces 34 counts related to falsifying business records to conceal a $130,000 payment made by his former attorney Michael Cohen to Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election. Trump maintains his innocence, denouncing the charges as politically motivated.
Scharf praised Blanche’s meticulous breakdown of the prosecution’s case, highlighting the lack of evidence supporting the charges. He mentioned that the jury could start deliberations as soon as Wednesday.
Regarding the prosecution’s arguments, Scharf criticized their tactics as misleading and expressed optimism for a favorable outcome for Trump. He emphasized the team’s confidence after the closing arguments.
