Trump’s Lead Over Biden Increases in Latest Rasmussen Poll
According to a recent poll, former President Donald Trump has expanded his lead over President Joe Biden for the expected 2024 election matchup.
A new survey by Rasmussen Reports revealed that in a hypothetical three-way race between Biden, Trump, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., 46% of likely U.S. voters would support Trump, 36% would choose Biden, and 9% would back RFK Jr.
In a scenario that includes Green Party candidate Jill Stein and former Harvard Professor Cornell West, 48% would vote for Trump, 36% for Biden, 8% for RFK Jr., and 1% each for West and Stein.
Previously in April, Trump led Biden by 6 points, 44% to 38%, with RFK Jr. at 10%, according to Rasmussen Reports.
The poll was conducted during Trump’s fraud trial in New York City.
Other key findings from the poll include:
- 71% of voters are excited about the 2024 presidential election, with 47% very excited.
- 59% of Trump voters are very excited, while 50% of Biden voters share the same sentiment.
- 60% of Republicans are very excited about the election, compared to 45% of Democrats and 36% of unaffiliated voters.
- Trump receives 80% support from GOP voters in a three-way matchup, while Biden gets 70% of Democratic voters.
- Among unaffiliated voters, 44% support Trump, 26% Biden, and 15% RFK Jr.
- In a five-way race, Trump wins support from 52% of white voters, 21% of black voters, 45% of Hispanics, and 63% of other minorities.
- Biden secures 34% of white voters, 61% of black voters, 30% of Hispanics, and 14% of other minorities in a five-way matchup.
- RFK Jr. performs well among Hispanics and other minorities in either two-way or five-way races.
- Voters aged 40 and above predominantly support Trump, while those under 40 are more evenly split between Biden and Trump, with a tendency towards RFK Jr.
- Conservative voters show more enthusiasm for the 2024 election compared to liberals and moderates. Moderate voters are more likely to support RFK Jr.
The poll has a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points.
