Two Mexican Nationals Charged with Molesting Minor in Cruise Sauna, Now Facing Immigration Holds – One America News Network

Two men from Mexico, currently facing immigration holds, were arrested for allegedly molesting a 14-year-old boy in a sauna on a Royal Caribbean cruise.

An immigration hold, also referred to as an ICE detainer, is a request by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for local law enforcement to keep an individual in custody for up to 48 hours past their scheduled release to allow ICE to take over for potential deportation.
Records indicate that both suspects are being held without bond and on immigration holds.
On Friday, two Mexican nationals, Jose Prudencio Diaz, 36, and Ricardo Daniel Mondragon Leal, 37, were taken into custody.
They are charged with several offenses, including lewd and lascivious molestation of a child aged 12-16. Additionally, one suspect faces a charge of sexual battery, while the other is charged for not disclosing his HIV status to the minor.
As per arrest reports from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the incidents reportedly took place on Thursday, March 20th.
The 14-year-old victim disclosed to detectives that he was in the sauna of the Royal Caribbean cruise ship “Independence of the Seas” with Diaz and Leal.
The victim reported that during their time in the sauna, both men began to engage in sexual acts in front of him, according to the report.
The report further details that Diaz and Leal then started to touch the victim while using intimidation tactics to compel him to reciprocate. Leal allegedly forced the victim to perform a sexual act while molesting him, as stated in the complaint.
The arrest report also mentioned that Leal engaged in oral sex with the victim.
“The defendant, acting in concert with another defendant, was on a cruise,” a prosecutor remarked in court. “This indicates that they targeted a specific minor, and such behavior could happen again.”
