On Saturday, Vice President JD Vance’s trip to a ski resort in Vermont was disrupted as hundreds of demonstrators rallied in support of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

This situation compelled Vance and his family to relocate to a “secure place” after protestors crowded the Sugarbush Resort in Warren, Vermont, where they were spending their vacation.
Demonstrators lined the icy streets, brandishing signs labeling Vance as a “Putin pawn” and a “nazi.”
In contrast, counter-demonstrators arrived with “Make America Great Again” flags, expressing their support for Vance and the Trump administration.
One local skier shared with Fox News that, “Those protesting Vance are f***ing morons.”
This protest followed a heated exchange between Vance, President Trump, and Zelensky at the White House, where the leaders engaged in a vocal disagreement.
Even before the meeting at the White House, protesters were preparing for action, and the confrontation between the Trump administration and Zelensky only fueled their determination.
The high-profile meeting, which aimed to finalize a deal granting the United States access to Ukraine’s rare earth minerals, turned contentious as President Trump accused Zelensky of “gambling with World War III.”
Throughout the discussions, Vance challenged Zelensky for “litigating this issue in front of the American press,” claiming he was ungrateful for the extensive support from the United States.
Vance also criticized Zelensky for enforcing conscription to sustain war efforts, asserting: “Currently, you are forcibly sending conscripts to the front lines due to manpower shortages. You should be thanking the president for seeking to end this conflict.”
Zelensky retorted, suggesting that the U.S. may “feel” the impacts of war “in the future” due to Russia’s aggression.
Before the White House meeting with Zelensky, Vermont Republican Governor Phil Scott encouraged demonstrators to “show respect.”
“I hope Vermonters keep in mind that the Vice President is on a family trip with young children, and although we may not always agree, we should be respectful,” Scott remarked on Thursday.
“Let’s welcome them to Vermont and hope they get a chance to experience all the special qualities of our state and its people.”
It remains uncertain when an agreement may be reached among the United States, Russia, and Ukraine. President Trump stated that Zelensky could return to the White House “when he is ready for peace.”
