Vandals Deface Homes of Brooklyn Museum Board Members who are Jewish, says NYPD

The New York Police Department is currently investigating vandalism that occurred at the residences of various Jewish members of the Brooklyn Museum’s board of directors, as well as Director Anne Pasternak, as reported by CNN.

A total of five homes were impacted, with images shared by NYC Comptroller Brad Lander showing red paint splattered on Pasternak’s residence, two inverted red triangles, and a sign at the entrance covered with red handprints that says, “Anne Pasternak Brooklyn Museum White Supremacist Zionist.”

The phrase “Blood on your hands” was also found painted on the ground nearby.

Jewish advocate Aviva Klompas pointed out that the triangles are a symbol commonly used by terrorists to mark their targeted victims.

“This is not a form of peaceful protest or free speech. It is a criminal act and a clear display of unacceptable antisemitism,” stated New York City Mayor Eric Adams on X.

Mayor Adams went on to express, “Such actions will not be tolerated in New York City under any circumstance. I extend my apologies to Anne Pasternak and the members of @brooklynmuseum’s board who had to wake up to such hateful acts.”

“I spoke with Anne this morning and assured her that this kind of hate will not prevail in our city. The NYPD is actively investigating and will ensure that those responsible for these crimes face justice,” he added.

City Councilman Lincoln Restler, D-Brooklyn, mentioned that there is video footage of the vandalism and that the police are currently conducting an investigation.

“This vandalism and attack on people’s homes is inexcusable and counterproductive,” he concluded.
