Voters are divided on Biden and Trump in CBS News poll with the economy being top concern

A recent CBS News poll has found that voters in three battleground states are divided when given the exclusive choice of voting for either President Joe Biden or former President Donald Trump.

After surveying voters in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, the poll revealed that both Biden and Trump are neck and neck in terms of support.

In Michigan, there is a slight preference for Biden at 51% compared to Trump at 49%. Pennsylvania showed a similar outcome with 49% supporting Biden and 50% favoring Trump. Wisconsin also had Biden with 49% support and Trump with a slight lead at 50%.

Many voters in these Midwest states are concerned about inflation and the state of the economy. Nearly half of those surveyed believe that their state’s economy has worsened since 2020.

When reflecting on the Trump administration, a majority of voters in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin remembered the economy under Trump as “good.”

The poll took place from April 19-25 and surveyed 1,287 registered voters in Michigan, 1,306 in Pennsylvania, and 1,245 in Wisconsin, with a margin of error of ± 3.1 points in Michigan and Pennsylvania and ± 3.2 points in Wisconsin.
