Voters in California and Nevada Consider Banning Forced Prison Labor




In November, voters in California and Nevada will have the opportunity to vote on measures that would eliminate language in their state constitutions that allows for forced prison labor, a practice with roots in chattel slavery. These measures are designed to safeguard incarcerated individuals from being coerced into working under duress.
