Wenstrup discusses NIH’s actions against Daszak and EcoHealth Alliance with Newsmax
Rep. Brad Wenstrup, R-Ohio, stated to Newsmax that ongoing investigations have prompted the NIH to debar Peter Daszak and EcoHealth Alliance from further funding, emphasizing the need for accountability within government agencies.
Wenstrup revealed that the NIH has taken decisive action against Peter Daszak and EcoHealth Alliance following investigations into their activities.
“Our investigation has led to the NIH taking action against Peter Daszak and EcoHealth Alliance by debarring him and EcoHealth Alliance, where they will not receive any more funding. We will continue to investigate,” Wenstrup said.
Addressing the importance of accountability within government agencies, including the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), NIH, and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Wenstrup emphasized the necessity of imposing criminal liabilities for violations of agency standards.
“If we do not address misconduct within agencies like Health and Human Services, NIH, NIAID, by enforcing criminal liabilities for violations of their own standards, we will struggle to rebuild trust,” Wenstrup emphasized. “We need trustworthy individuals within these agencies.”
Wenstrup also commended Dr. Rich McCormick’s testimony during the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic’s hearing titled “A Hearing with Dr. Anthony Fauci.”
“Dr. Rich McCormick, an E.R. Physician who cares for patients during COVID, provided compelling testimony today,” Wenstrup noted.
McCormick played audio during the hearing of an interview in which Fauci referenced “ideological bulls—” in relation to COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy.
During the hearing, Anthony Fauci refuted claims that his agency funded research leading to the COVID-19 pandemic’s creation or engaged in a cover-up of its origins, dismissing such allegations as “preposterous.”
