WH to Host Kansas City Chiefs, Honoring Their 2020 Super Bowl Victory After Previous Visit Was Canceled Due to COVID – One America News Network

President Donald Trump revealed his intention to welcome the Kansas City Chiefs to the White House to commemorate their 2020 championship victory, which had been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Moreover, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that the Philadelphia Eagles will visit the White House on April 28^th. This year, the Eagles triumphed over the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, concluding the game with a score of 40-22.

“There has been a lot of misleading information regarding the invitation. To clarify: we extended an invitation, and they accepted it with enthusiasm. You’ll see them on April 28,” she stated.

Trump made the announcement during an interview with OutKick’s Clay Travis on Saturday.

“I am looking forward to welcoming the (Philadelphia) Eagles,” he told Travis while on Air Force One en route to the NCAA Wrestling Championships. “And let me also add, we will host the Kansas City Chiefs afterward because they missed their opportunity due to COVID.”

In February 2020, the Kansas City Chiefs secured their victory in Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers, just before the nationwide shutdown in response to the pandemic.

Additionally, during Trump’s first term in 2018, the Eagles opted not to visit the White House after their victory. Trump noted that while a few players, coaches, and the team’s general manager showed interest in the visit, the invitation was ultimately rescinded.

At that time, the team stated that most members disagreed with the President’s expectation for them to stand during the National Anthem as a tribute to the military and the country, according to ESPN.

“Some players wanted to attend. I said, just forget it,” he reminisced, adding, “I faced a similar issue with the San Francisco basketball team.”

The Philadelphia Eagles Football Team was invited to the White House. Unfortunately, only a small number of players decided to come, and we canceled the event. Staying in the Locker Room for the playing of our National Anthem is as disrespectful to our country as kneeling. Sorry!
