Whitaker Urges Newsmax to Investigate Engoron-Lawyer Communication

A New York real estate lawyer’s recent claim that he had a discussion with the judge overseeing Donald Trump’s civil fraud case has raised concerns about potential outside influences on the case, according to former Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker.

Whitaker expressed skepticism about Judge Arthur Engoron’s ruling in the case, calling it “completely unfounded in the law and in the facts” during an interview on Newsmax’s “The Chris Salcedo Show.”

Attorney Adam Leitman Bailey claimed he spoke with Engoron before the judge’s decision to fine Trump $454 million, but Engoron has denied any improper influence.

The New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct is now investigating the alleged interaction between Bailey and Engoron.
