WH’s Susan Rice Steps Down Amid Migrant Children Report

Susan Rice is stepping down as White House domestic policy adviser next month, a move that comes in the wake of The New York Times report critical of her handling of migrant children.

“I am deeply grateful to @potus for trusting and empowering me to serve as his Domestic Policy Adviser,” Rice tweeted Monday, sharing President Joe Biden’s statement on her departure. “I love the team @DPC and in the @WhiteHouse. There are no more dedicated public servants.

“I am so proud of all we have been able to accomplish together for the American people.”

The Times had reported the White House and Rice have ignored warnings about migrant children sponsors putting the kids to work in violation of child labor laws. Rice’s departure comes as Title 42 border expulsions under the COVID-19 pandemic is ending next month, potentially leaving the border vulnerable to further mass migration.

“I surprised a lot of people when I named Amb. Susan Rice as my Domestic Policy Adviser,” Biden’s White House statement Monday read. “Susan was synonymous with foreign policy, having previously served as National Security Adviser and UN Ambassador. But what I knew then and what we all know now — after more than two years of her steady leadership of the Domestic Policy Council — it’s clear: There is no one more capable, and more determined to get important things done for the American people than Susan Rice.”

Rice was the orchestrator of the Obama administration actions about former President Donald Trump’s transition, including the alleged unmasking of Michael Flynn before Trump took office.

“As the only person to serve as both National Security Adviser and Domestic Policy Adviser, Susan’s record of public service makes history,” Biden’s statement concluded. “But what sets her apart as a leader and colleague is the seriousness with which she takes her role and the urgency and tenacity she brings, her bias towards action and results, and the integrity, humility and humor with which she does this work. I thank Susan for her service, her counsel and her friendship. I will miss her.”

Former Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell has repeatedly told Newsmax he believes Rice to be a proverbial puppet master in the Biden White House, pulling the strings on domestic policy, if not foreign policy, and national security issues.

“NBC has failed to cover the secret hand of Susan Rice for the last few years,” Grenell tweeted, sharing NBC News’ report of her departure. “She’s plotted at State and the intel agencies without scrutiny. She leaves the White House with world chaos in her wake.”
