Will ‘Online Safety’ be the End of Free Speech?



The Senate has approved the “Kids Online Safety Act,” which draws inspiration from the EU and UK’s policies. However, there are concerns that KOSA’s broad regulations could lead to the censorship of online speech and expression. The proposed act would give government officials the authority to compel online platforms to delete content deemed “harmful,” a term that is vague and open to interpretation.
